Katie Burwell

Pearce welcomes our newest Personal Trainer, Katie Burwell! To those who regularly work out in our weight room, Katie is probably a familiar face. She’s been a regular at Pearce for years working on her own fitness and training with her daughter, Allison.
Katie grew up running, stating that she discovered her love for the activity when she was 10 years old. Actively running throughout her childhood and early teenage years carried Katie into college where she began to weightlift in preparation for the police academy. She continued lifting regularly while earning her Bachelor’s in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration from Western Illinois University, but her training came to a halt after a catastrophic work injury sidelined her for seven years.
With her doctors supervision, Katie began to walk and lift weights again. Once she was able to start jogging again, she felt compelled to help others realize their potential. She earned her CPT with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and now specializes in athlete training and weight loss — encouraging others to be their best.
“Believe in yourself. You never know who is watching, who you’re inspiring.”
In addition to athletic training at Pearce, Katie helps long-distance runners as an assistant girls track coach at IVC. She is working on her Performance Training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
