Pearce would like to recognize Heath Coburn as our September Member of the Month!
For Heath Coburn, Pearce has been more than a place to work out—it has been a familiar part of his life for nearly two decades.

At 45, Heath works as an IT Analyst, spending much of his workday at a desk. His connection to Pearce, however, goes back much further. He first started coming to Pearce in high school and has remained connected to the facility and its community for approximately 20 years, off and on.

“I’ve been coming here since high school and appreciate the small town feel of Pearce—so many wonderful people here,” Heath says. That sense of community is one of the things he values most about being a Pearce member. He also appreciates the combination of amenities and affordability, especially the sauna, pool and hot tub. “The amount of amenities coupled with the reasonable price is great,” he says. “The community outreach and having a safe and fun place for children is very beneficial for our community.”

Over the years, Heath has taken advantage of several Pearce programs and fitness opportunities, including yoga and sound bath. For him, wellness isn’t simply about exercise—it’s also about finding ways to relax, recharge and clear his mind.

Because his job requires him to sit at a desk throughout the day, the sauna has become a particularly valuable part of his routine. “I sit at a desk all day, so being able to detox in the sauna helps loosen up my muscles and clears my head after a good walk,” he explains. That balance between movement and recovery helps Heath make Pearce part of his overall approach to health and well-being.

When he isn’t working or spending time at Pearce, Heath enjoys an active and adventurous lifestyle. His hobbies include hiking, fishing, home improvement and vacationing in the Caribbean.

His approach to life is also reflected in one of his favorite sayings: “If someone isn’t helping me pay my bills, I don’t have to listen to their opinions.”

For anyone looking to get more out of their Pearce experience, Heath recommends finding the right people to share the journey with. “Find some good people to go to Pearce with for accountability and to make working out not feel like a workout—you will definitely see results.”

After 20 years of being part of the Pearce community, Heath’s experience is a great reminder that wellness is about more than a single workout. It’s about finding a place where you feel comfortable, building relationships, staying active and making healthy habits a part of everyday life.

We’re proud to recognize Heath Coburn as our Member of the Month – thank you for being such a
vibrant part of the Pearce community!
