P.O.W.E.R. Camp

Preteens Outdoors with Educational Recreation

Take your summer to a whole new level with our P.O.W.E.R. Camp for preteens! This active, dynamic program is specifically designed for kids 11-13 years of age who will have the opportunity to participate in a large variety of events that will allow them to build relationships, guide them in becoming leaders, and challenge them every day in a positive manner.

Participants in this program will have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of outdoor adventures. Outdoor adventures will include team building events such as Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, and other sports. They’ll also be hiking and competing in water activities, as well as engaging in weekly fitness classes, organized by Pearce’s Personal Trainers.

Each participant will strengthen and enrich their mind through experiences that include STEM projects with help from the Chillicothe Public Library. They’ll engage in Sketchbook Art that will allow them to build their skills and display their finished products throughout the community. Pearce believes that summer reading is very important and wants to give these participants the opportunity to learn through literature. They’ll engage in weekly book club to help foster their reading abilities, build their comprehension, and allow them to work together as a team to create a final project.

Through charity events and volunteer opportunities, participants will be given a wide variety of opportunities to learn about the importance of giving back and will lead the way for raising money and items for relatable charities. They’ll also have the chance to experience how various Chillicothe businesses are run through volunteerism designed for future leaders.

P.O.W.E.R. Camp Counselors have been chosen based on their interest and passion for this age group of children. They represent some of the brightest young adults in our community and strive to help build the future through these participants while putting their heart into making this camp the best it can be for your preteens.

Each participant must bring a backpack each day that contains a swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, and a book to read daily. Participants must also wear their P.O.W.E.R. Camp shirt every day. Camp shirts will be given out at orientation.
