June Members of the Month
Pearce would like to recognize the Young Family as our June Members of the Month!
Meet the Young family: Jason, Shelley, and their daughter Finley. They are longtime members of Pearce Community Center who have found more than just a place to work out. Jason, a data engineer, and Shelley, a teacher, first joined Pearce over 10 years ago for the fitness programs and equipment. Over time, their reasons for staying have grown, especially with the arrival of Finley, now a 1st grader and proud Pearce member herself.
What started as a fitness-focused membership has become a family affair centered around community, connection, and fun. From swim lessons and youth soccer to after-school care and group fitness classes, the Youngs have taken full advantage of the many programs Pearce offers for all ages. “Pearce has given Finley a community of friends and fun,” they share, “and it’s allowed us to feel more connected to the Chillicothe community.”
When they’re not at Pearce, the Young family enjoys reading together, biking, and hiking the local trails. Jason is also an avid runner. Staying active is important to them, and they appreciate the variety of fitness opportunities Pearce provides to support their healthy lifestyle.
Their advice to other Pearce families? “If you have school-age children, make sure to get them involved. There are so many wonderful opportunities at Pearce for kids to be active, have fun, and be safe.”
