Pearce would like to recognize Steven Wallace as our August Member of the Month!
Steven is a 33-year-old, Landscape Design/Equipment Operator with Oakwood Landscaping.
He joined Pearce in 2021 after a car accident left him paralyzed in 2014. Several years of being out of physical therapy and letting his physical health take a back seat, he decided it was time to get back to taking better care of himself.
Steven says that everyone is so friendly here at Pearce – the Front Desk staff, Personal Trainers, and even people he has never met always stop and say Hi, offer words of encouragement or a high five in the gym.
When Steven decided to make his health a priority, he had no clue where to start, which workouts would be best, let alone how to adapt them to work around his wheelchair. He signed up for personal training and had the pleasure of working with some of our phenomenal trainers who always pushed him and thought outside the box.
Being a member at Pearce benefits him both at work and in his home life. His entire life revolves around his arms & shoulders. Personal training and working out at Pearce has improved his transfers in and out of equipment, trucks, etc. It has helped him get stronger & maintain that strength and has also helped push him to make overall healthier choices.
In his free time, you can find him hunting, fishing, camping, riding ATV’s and spending time with friends.
Steven’s favorite saying is “The only easy day was yesterday”.
Advice he would give to other Pearce members: Don’t stop. No matter how tired, sore or unmotivated – wake up and keep pushing.
Thank you, Steven for choosing to be a Pearce member!
